Winterization Bundle

Get what you need for your hive during the winter months, all in one convenient bundle! Place the quilt box on top of your hive and fill with burlap to control moisture. Install the mouse guard at your entrance to keep mice out! Lastly, provide your hive the energy they need with need to survive the winter with our Pro Winter Feed.

Mice can cause significant damage to the honeycomb your bees worked very hard to build. Keep them out by installing a stainless steel mouse guard across the entrance of your hive. The guard fits perfectly across the entrance of 10 frame bottom boards and still allows your bees full access through the holes.

The 10 frame quilt box was designed by EAS Master Beekeeper, Ben Carpenter and is made in the USA. The box should be placed at the top of your hive, under the inner cover. Place the notch down to provide and upper entrance on the hive so the bees can easily leave for cleansing flights on warmer days. Add burlap to absorb moisture and cover with your inner cover and telescoping cover.. We recommend periodically checking the burlap by removing the cover to the hive. If it appears to be holding moisture, simply remove and replace with fresh burlap.

The space below the screen will allow space for adding Pro Winter Feed on top of the frames. Pro Winter Feed provides the carbohydrates your bees need during the winter months. We recommend placing 2-5lbs of feed directly on the top bars, or on a sheet of wax paper.
