Description

The Improved Mann Lake Top Feeder Insert features a galvanized steel safety screen designed to reduce bee drowning.

This feeder is constructed of heavy-duty, single-piece plastic to provide a no-leak reservoir! Unpainted wooden surrounding measures 4½" x 19⅝" (11.43 cm x 49.85 cm) and fits all standard equipment. There is no comparison to the strength and durability this feeder provides over foam top-feeders.

  • Fill the feeder without opening the hive
  • One piece construction prevents leaking
  • Unpainted wooden surrounding measures 4½" x 19⅝" (11.43 cm x 49.85 cm)

Remove honey supers intended for human consumption prior to feeding.

Pro Tip: If this feeder runs completely empty or the syrup level gets very low, bees may crowd under the screen and struggle to find their way back, which can lead to drowning. To help prevent this, you can apply a bead of food-grade caulking along the bottom of the screen.

    Great feeders.

by David on May 08, 2024

These easily hold 2 gallons of sugar syrup. Refill is a snap without opening the hive. Bees are much calmer and really consume the syrup. Heavy construction with large area for lots of bees to feed at once.

    Works as expected

by Eric Caldwell on Apr 30, 2024

Replaced the frame feeder with another frame of foundation, then put this feeder on. Checked the next day and the bees were feeding from it as hoped. Now I can refill the syrup less frequently and without having to crack open the brood box.

    8 frame top feeder

by Shana Brevard on Apr 29, 2024

I love these feeders-my bees that arrived Friday are drawing out comb wonderfully to do being fed. 8 frame parts are hard to find but these are perfect! They are light due to the line and the liner seems to be tough. So far the bees have loved having them and my oldest hive is happy being fed with one too! They make feeding easy and less messy-take the teloscoping top off, take the inner cover and fill with a bucket-bees are not disturbed and no need to suit up. Really do like these

    New User

by Eric Caldwell on Apr 25, 2024

I am new to top feeders and have not yet installed these (still waiting for the last coat of paint to dry) so this criticism may be unfounded, but... ...the "walls" on the underside, interior of the reservoir seem extremely smooth. I am concerned that the bees may not be able to get a grip and crawl up from the lower box. Otherwise I'd give it five stars.
