Product Details

Description

The Spacer Shim is a crucial component explicitly designed to improve brood chamber congestion. Providing space for bees effectively reduces swarming and enhances honey production.

Incorporating a spacer shim creates an additional entrance and exit to honey supers, significantly aiding the honey-gathering process. The shim must be placed between supers with a drawn comb to ensure optimal function. The spacers also provide the necessary space for patties, further improving the beekeeping environment.

Assembly is required for this product, and it comes with easy-to-follow instructions, including nails, ensuring that the assembly process is straightforward and easy. The spacer shim is available in two sizes:

WW239 - 10 frame Spacer Shim 18 7/8" x 16 1/4" x 3/4"

WW382 - 8 frame Spacer Shim 18 7/8" x 14" x 3/4"

When stacked with supers, the spacer shim ensures a perfect fit and prevents unwanted gaps in the hive, maintaining a well-organized brood chamber.

Order your Spacer Shim today to ensure your hive is functioning. Find the right spacer for your needs, whether it's the 10-frame or 8-frame option. By including this essential tool in your beekeeping cart, you'll save time and improve your hive's productivity.

    Spacer Shim

by Penny L Austin on Nov 06, 2024

Screws need to be supplied rather than nails. Nails are so thin, they are hard to get all the way in without bending. Plus, nails release over time. Screws would work better and last longer.

Nicely cut and fit however the nails must be the cheapest Chinese nails you could find. I suggest people buy their own nails.
