Description

California Russian-Carniolan Vaccinated Queen Bees are known for their resilience, adaptability, and exceptional honey production, especially tailored for regions with early honey flows. These remarkable Carniolan bees have been meticulously bred to excel in demanding environments, and their unique ability to regulate colony population based on pollen and nectar availability makes them the ultimate choice for beekeepers facing harsh conditions.

Healthy hives are built from healthy brood.

There are many factors that stress honeybee colonies. Among these, American Foulbrood (AFB) is among the most devastating of bee bacterial infections. The bacterial spores that cause AFB have been found to be present in up to 50% of hives tested in Canada and the United States. Developed by Dalan Animal Health, this breakthrough in honeybee care is the first and only biologic conditionally licensed by the USDA-CVB to help in the fight against AFB. The vaccine is safe, non-chemical, and suitable for use in organic agriculture. When queen bees are orally inoculated with Dalan’s vaccine, protection works through a biological mechanism called transgenerational immune priming (TGIP), whereby the queen passes immunity to her daughters before they hatch. The vaccine exposes queen bees to inactive bacteria, which enables the larvae hatched in the hive to resist infection.

Vaccinated queens are a new solution created by Dalan Animal Health, allowing eggs to begin building up immunity before they hatch. Protect your brood from day one to stay ahead of hive health threats. Preorder vaccinated queens today from Mann Lake.

With 20,000 hives vaccinated in North America and growing, hear what customers are saying about the product:

"Of 8 colonies, the one with the vaccinated queen is currently the strongest going into winter. I find this especially impressive as all the other colonies are locally adapted (100% survival last winter) and most were well established before the arrival of the vaccinated queen". - Cecily from BC, Canada

"I'm really excited about the proactive approach to bee health. In our most recent trial, we found that DWV-B viral loads were 90% lower in vaccinated colonies. It looks like this vaccine could be a powerful tool for preventing both AFB and DWV, helping us shift from managing infections to outright prevention." - Trevor Tauzer, Tauzer Apiaries

"In our yard, performance has been great, strong build up, enough to support our aggressive splits throughout the season. Acceptance rate went just as well. Bees look good, hives are strong and brood is beautiful!" - Nadine from ON, Canada
