For use in building your own brooder, this heater is perfect for raising chicks and ensuring optimal warmth. The heater is constructed of silicon composite with an internal foil element.
The 250-watt, 115-volt, AC thermostat is thermostatically controlled and has a temperature range of 70-120 degrees. It ensures that young chicks, including day-old chicks, stay warm and maintain proper body temperature, much like a mother hen or broody hen would.
Utilizing a thermometer to determine exact temperature, in relation to the back height of a chick, is especially important during their first week to help chicks thrive. The heater's design provides safe radiant heat, reducing the fire risk compared to a traditional heat lamp or heat bulb that might pose a fire hazard.
Heater assembly can be easily removed for cleaning. Its height adjustment capabilities ensure it can adapt as chicks grow into their next stages of development. Use it as a reliable solution for new chicks or even as a back up for your existing chick brooders.
