Anything treated with this copper green will last much longer and resist mold, mildew, and rot. You can buy it at your home center to p paint on bare wood before painting.
Lid is perfectly flat and straight. Excited to see the longevity of a treated lid.
Treated wood is very dry I tested it with a moisture meter and was very surprised by the results. I was a little concerned with shrinking like most treated lumber. Don’t think it’s pressure treated but definitely treated with something. I wonder what?
Like this so much better than the metal top covers. I can screw down the top so no wind, or predators (2 or 4) legged can open and leave exposed through the year. I no longer need bricks to hold down the top in case of high winds. Simple screw holds in place.
