This universal metal hive stand is used to raise your hive up to a more comfortable working level. Redesigned to be adjustable to fit 10-frame, 8-frame, and old style bottom boards. The stand places the bottom of the hive at 8".

    Hive stand

    I am submitting a second review because my prior one is wrong. I could not get the frame to adjust down from a 10 frame box to an 8 frame box but it turns out this was due to my error and was not a design flaw. I simply had to reverse the direction of the cross slats to get the stand to reduce down to the correct width for an 8 frame box. Now the stand works great. And perhaps more important, I phoned Mann Lake and spoke with Joyce at their 800 number. Joyce took the time to go to the shop, check out my problem, look at the pictures I sent to her, consult with a person in the shop, and figure out what I was doing wrong. This help was outstanding.

    Hive stand

    Works great, but contrary to what another reviewer wrote, I bought a 10-frame box stand thinking I could adjust it down to fit my 8 frame boxes. It cannot be adjusted down enough to make a tight fit such that each side sits on the strong part of the stand. I will have new holes drilled in the crossbars to enable it to work properly with 8 frame boxes.
