Pollen/Propolis Collection

Bee Pollen & Propolis Taps

Expert and beginner beekeepers will benefit from collecting honey and bee pollen and propolis. Use both bee pollen and propolis to improve your hives and for profit as dietary supplements or health benefits. Browse our collection of bee propolis and pollen traps for your collecting needs.

Collect pollen from your bees with our efficient pollen traps. With collected bee pollen and honey, rich in amino acids, vitamins, and minerals, you can analyze your colony’s foraging habits, keep a pollen reserve of this nutrient-dense food for more challenging seasons, or consider selling or donating your excess pollen to fellow apiarists.

Aside from honey, bee pollen is a dietary supplement that can support immunity, benefiting your colony and health. Members of your bee hive go through the screen of our pollen traps, where pollen is collected on a tray. Find the bee pollen trap best suited for your system in our collection.

How Propolis Traps Work

Propolis traps are used to gather propolis from your hive. Your bees will fill the grooves of the plastic propolis trap, and propolis can be collected by freezing the trap and twisting or tapping it out. Used by honeybees to defend their colonies, propolis (also known as bee glue) is rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and flavonoids that support the immune system.

Propolis has historically been used to soothe sore throats, improve mucous membranes, and even reduce blood glucose levels, making it a popular natural remedy–making it a viable product to sell aside from honey.

  • Budget - First, we suggest you take a class or find a mentor to work with you. Knowledge helps safeguard against failure, so the more you know, the more successful you will be. You will need to order your bees and purchase beekeeping supplies, such as propolis traps.
